The Avenue des Champs-Élysées, famous for its luxury boutiques, cafés and restaurants, is one of the most famous avenues in the world. Every year since 1916, in the run-up to Christmas, it has been illuminated with thousands of strings of lights. The windows of the department stores on the Grands Boulevards are decked out in their finest finery to recreate a fairytale world that attracts millions of visitors and adds to the charm of Paris in the run-up to Christmas.
